Rohtang (Himachal Pradesh) Oct 03 (ANI): Prime Minister, Narendra Modi inaugurated Atal Tunnel connecting Manali to Lahaul-Spiti Valley in Himachal Pradesh. “Atal tunnel will give new strength to India's border infrastructure. It is an example of world-class border connectivity. There have been demands to improve border infrastructure but for a long time, such projects either couldn't get out of planning stage or got stuck midway,” PM Modi. The Tunnel has been named after former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee (previously known as Rohtang Tunnel). Highway tunnel being built under the Rohtang Pass in the eastern Pir Panjal range of the Himalayas on the Leh-Manali Highway. The tunnel being built by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO).
