Guwahati (Assam), Feb 03 (ANI): Assam government pointed out many anomalies in implementation process of 1st National Register of Citizens, said Transformation & Development Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. “Citizenship Amendment Act has been passed, rule is yet to be framed. So, it is entirely up to Government of India to frame the rule and modify it. So far as NRC in Assam is concerned, we have already pointed out many anomalies in the implementation process of the first NRC. Our NRC coordinator has already filed an affidavit detailing anomalies and requirement of a re-verification process. Assam NRC issue is basically between judiciary and Assam govt and nothing is to be decided by Govt of India, per se. Our matter is in the court and Assam issue will be independent of what has been stated in the Parliament. Assam issue will be decided by Court, Govt of India and Govt of Assam,” said Assam Minister Sarma.
