Assam floods: Over 39 lakh affected across 27 districts, death toll reaches 71

Kamrup (Assam), July 17 (ANI): At least 71 people have lost their lives and over 39 lakh have been affected across 27 districts of Assam due to the floods, said an official of Assam Disaster Management Authority. The official further said that the state government is running 303 relief camps and 445 relief distribution centres. Meanwhile, the rescue operations are on in affected areas by NDRF, SDRF, state police and locals.
