Apple growers in Kupwara get high-density plants to improve production

Kupwara (J&K) Aug 06 (ANI): High-density plants are provided to apple growers in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. For the benefit of growers and overall promotion of horticulture sector, the govt. is introducing high density plants among the growers. Instead of traditional plants, high-density plants are much beneficial as they occupy less space and give huge production within two years of its plantation. Apple growers can grow 166 high-density apple trees in one Kanal. Traditionally, they used to grow 12 to 15 apple trees per Kanal. Kashmir produces around 2.5 million metric tonnes of apple annually.
