Sambalpur/ Dharmagarh / Boudh (Odisha), Aug 24 (ANI): The three-day Nuakhai festival was celebrated in western parts of Odisha on August 23. As a tradition, people worship deities as mark of gratitude for bumper crop and good rain. People celebrated the festival at home this year considering the outbreak of pandemic. Priests alone performed rituals at temples. On this day, the younger members of the family greet each other and seek blessings from their elder ones, the ritual is called Nuakhai Bhet.
