The high-stakes campaigning for the third and final phase of polling in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections concluded on Sunday evening, with voting set to take place for 40 constituencies in the third phase.
According to Indian Army officials, "Four Indian Army soldiers have been injured in the ongoing encounter with terrorists in Kishtwar. One of the injured has been evacuated to the nearby Command Hospital for treatment, while three are being treated locally."
Two terrorists were neutralised, as well as a large number of warlike stores, including two AK-47s and one pistol recovered so far following an anti-infiltration operation launched by the Indian Army on the intervening nights of September 8 and September 9 in the Nowshera region of Jammu
"One terrorist has been neutralised in the ongoing operation. One AK 47 has been recovered in addition to the M4 rifle. Intermittent exchange of firing continues as the operations are ongoing," White Knight Corps said.
A solemn wreath-laying ceremony was held to pay homage to braveheart L/Nk Subhash Chander on Wednesday who succumbed to the injuries after troops foiled an infiltration bid by effectively engaging infiltrating terrorists during the exchange of fire in the Battal sector of Jammu.
"Alert troops foiled an infiltration bid by effectively engaging infiltrating terrorists with effective fire in the Battal Sector at 0300h. During the exchange of heavy fire, one braveheart has been injured. Operations are continuing," the White Knight Corps posted on X.
"Op Gunda Terrorists attacked the house of a VDC at Gunda, Rajouri at 0310h. A nearby Army column reacted and a firefight ensued. Operations are continuing," the White Knight Corps said in a post on 'X'.
Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Manoj Pande visited White Knight Corps and the forward areas of the Akhnoor sector in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.
As per the information from the Indian Army's White Knight Corps, Lt. General Sachdeva exhorted all ranks to stay vigilant and remain steadfast against all challenges.
