The second day of the first Lok Sabha session post-general elections began with the remaining 281 members taking oath as Members of Parliament (MPs) today.
Rajnath Singh has been given the responsibility to build a consensus for the election of the Speaker's post among alliance parties as well as opposition parties.
"The talks of changing the Constitution are rumours and fake campaigns. The Constitution cannot be changed. As far as the reservation is concerned, PM has said that it is a social system and it cannot be changed. The way Congress is linking this election with the Constitution and reservation
"PM Modi has said that reservation cannot be scrapped, Constitution cannot be amended. At times there might be a need for the welfare of the country like changing Article 370," Birla said speaking to ANI at Kota on Wednesday.
Lok Sabha Speaker Birla is on a two-day visit to Ayodhya with his wife Dr. Amita Birla. He will participate in the Bhoomi Pujan program of Maheshwari Samaj Bhawan on Monday at 9.30 am. He will also participate in Maha Aarti on the banks of the Saryu River at 5.30 pm.
Mentioning the trailblazing achievements of Indian women, Birla recalled that women leaders like Rani Laxmibai, Ahilyabhai, Kasturba Gandhi, etc., paved the way forward for the current generation of women to achieve their full potential.
