External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar exuded confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party "picking up many more" seats in the southern states in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
Under the mahagathbandhan (grand alliance) seat sharing arrangement in the State, of a total 40 Parliamentary seats, Congress will contest on nine while alliance partner Rashtriya Janata Dal on 26 and three Left parties on five seats.
Six parliamentary seats in the state - Tikamgarh (SC), Damoh, Khajuraho, Satna, Rewa and Hoshangabad- will go to the polls in the second phase of voting on April 26 from 7 am to 6pm.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma exuded confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party is going to win the majority of the Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan and everyone has faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The BJP, which has declared its candidates for the majority of the seats in Uttar Pradesh, has so far not announced its candidate for the Kaiserganj seat.
"Congress party with the full support of the INDIA bloc can win both the seats in Manipur- Inner and Outer. This time we got a lot of support from the Interior people of Manipur. This time also, people in the hill areas are supporting the Congress," Singh told ANI.
For three Lok Sabha constituencies in Andhra Pradesh, the Party has fielded KBR Naidu, SK Basheed, and M Jagapathi in Narsapuram, Rajampet, and Chittor seats respectively.
Bharatiya Janata Party Karnataka chief BY Vijayendra has exuded confidence that the party would win more seats in the Lok Sabha elections as compared to the previous elections.
