After the "re-appointment" of Sam Pitroda as the Chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Wednesday took a jibe at the Congress party and said Prime Minister Modi Ji had already predicted this development.
"The Congress President has reappointed him on the assurance that he will not in future leave room for such controversies to arise," Jairam Ramesh said.
Samajwadi Party chief and MP Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday came down heavily on BJP after the motion read by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla against the Emergency in Parliament and said that if the party cares so much about the emergency era, then it should increase the allowance of Loktantra Raksh
Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav condemned the motion read by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla against the Emergency in Parliament on Wednesday and said that instead of talking about the past, one should talk about the present conditions prevailing in the country.
Pitroda had resigned from the position earlier in May this year amid controversies surrounding his remark regarding the appearance of Indians. The Congress party had then distanced itself from Pitroda's remarks.
"Today I took oath as MP inside the Parliament... even today our people have not got respect, basic facilities. Where are the jobs? Where is employment? The government will have to answer. We have come here to protect the self-respect and rights of our people and we will show it by doing it.
After taking oath, Kishan said "Baba Gorakhnath Maharaj ki jai", "Har Har Mahadev" which was joined by other MPs in the House. He also said "Jai Bhojpuri" before shaking hands with MP Faggan Singh Kulaste, who was presiding the Lower House at the time.
Akhilesh Yadav who is from the opposition and the President of the Samajwadi Party when asked about the Lok Sabha nominations today said "Everything will be in front of us soon. The only demand of the opposition was that the speaker should have been from the opposition."
Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) leader and newly elected Member of Parliament Chandra Shekhar Azad asserted that he will be the voice of 'poor' and 'suppressed'.
