New Delhi [India], June 25 (ANI): Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Dimple Yadav was sworn in as the Member of Parliament from Mainpuri on the second day of the 18th Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
Dimple Yadav won the Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat by a margin of 2,21,639 votes, defeating her nearest rival, the BJP's Jaiveer Singh.
In the 2019 general elections, the seat was won by Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav by a margin of 94,389 votes.
The seat has been with Samajwadi Party since 1996, and its journey of victories has been marked by a series of electoral wins.

Dimple Yadav is the wife of former UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and daughter-in-law of former UP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav
Former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav also took their oaths on the second day of the 18th Lok Sabha here on Tuesday.
The first day of the 18th Lok Sabha witnessed a total of 262 newly-elected MPs, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, taking oaths as members of the Lok Sabha.
The election for the post of Speaker is scheduled for Wednesday.
As Parliament session began on Monday, uproarious scenes were witnessed as the INDIA Alliance, led by the Congress, turned the heat on the Modi-led NDA government.
A war of words broke out between PM Modi and Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge over the imposition of an emergency in 1975.
The opposition staged a protest inside the Parliament complex, displaying copies of the Constitution.
Rahul Gandhi won from both Raebareli and Wayanad Lok Sabha constituencies in the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls.
After Rahul Gandhi announced that he would resign as an MP from Wayanad and would keep the Raebareli constituency, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge announced Priyanka Gandhi's candidature from Wayanad last week.
If Priyanka Gandhi wins from Wayanad, three members of the Nehru-Gandhi family will be in Parliament - Sonia Gandhi in the Rajya Sabha and Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi in the Lok Sabha.
Meanwhile, efforts by the BJP's top leadership to reach a consensus on the Speaker of the 18th Lok Sabha came to nought when the INDIA bloc decided to nominate 8-time MP K Suresh for the post.
His nomination followed the filing of a nomination by the BJP's Kota MP Om Birla for the same position. Birla previously served as the Speaker in the 17th Lok Sabha.
This will be the first time that elections are held for the Speaker of the lower house, as traditionally the Lok Sabha Speaker and Deputy Speaker have been elected by consensus between the ruling party and the opposition.
Earlier, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that they had informed Rajnath Singh that the Opposition is prepared to support the NDA's Speaker candidate, on the condition that the Deputy Speaker position is given to the opposition. (ANI)
