Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar presided as the Chief Guest at the National Symposium on 'Aadhunik Jeevan Me Rishi Parampara' at Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Divyang State University, Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday.
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar inaugurated the new Sainik School in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, a 49-acre, Rs 176.45 crore facility, in presence of CM Adityanath and Minister Gulab Devi.
The plantation drive is a part of the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign and will be conducted through three services and associated organisations such as DRDO, Defence PSUs, CGDA, NCC, Sainik schools and ordnance factories, as per a press release by the Ministry of Defence.
Hailing from the Sainik School Rewa in Madhya Pradesh, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi and Army Chief Designate Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi were together in the school from class 5th-A in the early 1970s.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Monday said that various key issues were discussed during his meeting with Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Manohar Lal Khattar while highlighting that he demanded setting up of Sainik schools in the State.
Kharge, in his letter to the President, referred to an investigative report based on an RTI reply, which claimed that Sainik Schools are being privatised using a new PPP model introduced by the government, and "now 62 per cent of these schools are said to be owned by the BJP-RSS leaders".
As per the official press release, the tour was planned, organised and executed by the Assam Rifles and aimed to provide these cadets with a deeper understanding of the North Eastern states.
The school is being constructed by 'Vidya Bharati Madhya Bharat Prant' in Bagwada village, Budni tehsil in the district and its campus will be spread in about 40 acres.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajnath Singh described Samvid Gurukulam Girls Sainik School as a beacon of light for girls who aspire to join the Armed Forces and serve the motherland.
