The proceedings of both the lower and upper houses of Parliament were adjourned until noon today amid ruckus over demands for discussions on various issues, including Operation Sindoor and the voter list revision exercise being carried out in Bihar.
A fiery debate on the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor is expected to unfold in Parliament between top leaders from the ruling alliance and the opposition.
"Operation Sindoor is a significant achievement for all three of our country's armed forces. If this achievement is discussed in both houses of Parliament, the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, the people of the country will learn more about it," said Sukanta Majumdar.
BJP MP Manju Sharma on Sunday said that the government never refused to discuss Operation Sindoor in Parliament and blamed the opposition for wasting an entire week of the session by disrupting proceedings.
The minister told ANI, "From tomorrow, discussions on Operation Sindoor will take place in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Ever since the Parliament session began, we were ready for it, but the opposition had no such intention."
Ahead of the scheduled discussion on Operation Sindoor in Parliament, Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal on Sunday lashed out at the Opposition, accusing it of demanding debates but avoiding participation when answers are given.
As Lok Sabha on Monday is set to hold a special discussion on Operation Sindoor, BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sudhanshu Trivedi expressed hope that the Opposition would cooperate in acknowledging the Operation's national significance.
