Pune Police on Sunday arrested Raju Nandkumar Salunkhe, a partner in Lifeline Hospital Management Services (LHMS) from Mumbai in the alleged Shivaji Nagar Jumbo Covid Centre scam.
"He has been identified as Khursheed Ahmad Bhat. Incriminating materials and a hand grenade were recovered from his possession," the official statement said.
In a major breakthrough, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of Punjab Police arrested three persons allegedly involved in procuring and providing passports on fake particulars to gangsters/criminals of Punjab and other states to facilitate their escape from the country.
"Based on the technical surveillance and field sources, Vikrant alias Pintu alias Mental was apprehended at Bijwasan-Najafgarh Road, Near Bajghera, Delhi in a swift and well-orchestrated action," Special CP (Crime) Ravinder Yadav said.
According to the police, the mother threw her baby into the pond on April 24. The whole incident came to light on Wednesday after the baby's body was spotted floating in the pond. Police arrested the parents for further investigation.
