Saamana, the official mouthpiece of the Shiv Sena (UBT), raised questions on the functioning of the Indian Railways and passenger safety after 21 coaches of the North-East Express derailed in Bihar's Buxar district on Wednesday night, leaving four passengers dead and over 30 injured.
Yesterday, the MEA had set up a 24-hour control room in view of the escalating conflict. The control room will help monitor the situation and provide information and assistance.
According to officials with Lumding railway division of North East Frontier Railway, the special train departed from Danapur station at 6:00 am with 1006 passengers on board.

"A bus was going from Farrukhabad to Jaipur. 30 passengers were travelling in the bus. While overtaking a vehicle, the bus overturned, 12 passengers were injured and taken to Dausa hospital by ambulance," said police.
A special train carrying 1006 passengers on Thursday morning left from Raghunathpur station in Bihar's Buxar following the derailment of several coaches of the Anand Vihar-Kamakhya North-East Express train a day ago.
According to West Agra Deputy Commissioner of Police Somendra Meena, "The incident took place late Sunday night after one of the bus tyres burst at the Agra-Lucknow Expressway. There were 43 passengers onboard the bus."
Air India flights to and from Tel Aviv in Israel will remain suspended till October 14 (Saturday) keeping in mind the the safety of its passengers and crew, the airline spokesperson said Sunday.
