12 passengers injured in Bihar train accident admitted to AIIMS Patna

All the patients were given immediate treatment, and all of them are currently out of danger, said a press release.

Patna (Bihar) [India], October 12 (ANI): Ten patients who sustained injuries in the Raghunathpur (Bihar) train accident were admitted to Patna's AIIMS hospital in the night while two more were admitted to the hospital on Thursday morning, said Executive Director of AIIMS Patna, Gopal Krishna Pal in a press release.
Four of the 10 injured admitted at night had suffered serious injuries, including a femur fracture of one patient, a clavicle fracture of another patient, a condylar bone fracture of one patient and a cervical (neck) fracture of another patient, said the official statement.
The other six patients had minor soft tissue injuries.
The official release further informed that all the patients were given immediate treatment and all of them are currently out of danger.
None of the patients required ventilator support and none of them suffered any life-threatening injuries, said the press release.
Executive Director Pal and Medical Superintendent CM Singh along with the Head of Orthopedics, Head of Emergency Medicine, Head of Critical Care and Head of Radiology were available through the night and all of them along with the doctors, nurses and hospital attendants monitored the condition of the injured and took care of them, added the press release.
As per the official release, two more patients were admitted to the hospital on Thursday morning making the total count of patients from the train accident reach 12.
Both the injured admitted in the morning hours were also provided treatment and are now completely stable.
Earlier, on Wednesday, 21 coaches of the North East Express train derailed near Raghunathpur station in Buxar district, resulting in the death of four people have died while around 50 people were injured.
The North East Express train was going from Anand Vihar Terminal, Delhi to Kamakhya in Assam when its 21 coaches derailed at 21.35 on Wednesday near Raghunathpur station of the Danapur division of the East Central Railway.
"Four casualties have been confirmed, and rescue operations are underway. 21 coaches have derailed," Tarun Prakash, General Manager of East Central Railways (ECR) told ANI. (ANI)
