A large crowd in Haryana's Nuh took to the streets on Friday and staged a protest, demanding an investigation into the stone-pelting incident that took place on Thursday.
After getting interim bail from the District Court in the Nuh violence case, Congress Member of Legislative Assembly Maman Khan arrived at the residence of Congress leader Aftab Ahmed.
Khan the MLA from Ferozepur Jhirka was on September 15 arrested in connection with the communal clashes in Nuh and adjoining areas of the state was on September 19 sent to 14 days judicial custody.
Nuh Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Tuesday sent Congress Member of Legislative Assembly Mamman Khan to 14 days’ judicial custody in connection with the Nuh violence case.
In view of the possible potential of disruption of public utilities and disturbance of public law and order, internet services have been stopped in Nuh district from September 17-19.
Firozpur Jhirka MLA Maman Khan was produced in Nuh District Court on Sunday afternoon at 12.30 pm after 2 days of police remand. Maman Khan's lawyers argued fiercely in the court. After an hour's debate, Maman Khan was again sent on police remand for 2 days.
"The police had sought 7-day custody for Mamman Khan in the District and Sessions Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CGM) Joginder Singh. Two-day remand was given to the police," added the Advocate.
Superintendent of Police of Nuh Narender Bijarnia, while talking to the reporters said that there are charges of inciting violence against the Congress MLA.
Congress MLA Mamman Khan was arrested early Friday by Haryana police, a day after the state government told the Punjab and Haryana High Court that it had nominated him as an accused in an FIR in a case pertaining to the Nuh violence, ADGP Mamta Singh said.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar reached Nuh and met the family members of people who lost their lives in Nuh violence, broke out on July 31.
Following the government's decision to reduce domestic LPG cylinder prices, AIMIM president and Lok Sabha MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday said that the reduction in the price of cylinders is insufficient.
