Congress MP Randeep Surjewala on Wednesday questioned the Haryana government’s actions during the violent clashes in Gurugram, Nuh, and Sohna and accused the government of malice.
Members of Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Wednesday staged protests in several parts of the national capital against the violence that broke out in the Nuh district of neighbouring Haryana.
"Such communal incidents are unfortunate. The law and order situation in Haryana has completely collapsed much like in Manipur. Along with that, the state's intelligence system has also failed, which is unfortunate and worrisome," the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo said.
Reiterating his earlier claim, Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij on Wednesday said the violence that broke out between two groups during a procession on Monday and has claimed 6 lives so far, was part of a larger conspiracy which will be the subject of the ongoing investigation.
"Six people including two Home Guards and four civilians have died in the incident. 116 people have been arrested till now. They have been taken on remand. Those found guilty will not be spared. We are committed to the safety of the public,” Khattar said today.
Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Wednesday said the yatra organisers in Nuh did not provide complete information to the district administration, which resulted in the violence on Monday.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Varun Dahiya (Crime), Gurugram said today, "All schools, colleges and workplaces are functioning normally. There are no restrictions on the movement of traffic. The internet is also operational. I appeal to all to not pay heed to rumours on social media. I
Aam Admi Party (AAP) MP Sanjeev Arora on Tuesday issued a notice to Rajya Sabha seeking a short-duration discussion on August 2 over the recent communal violence that has erupted in the Nuh area in Haryana.
"This is an unfortunate incident. A Yatra was being organised during which some people conspired an attack Yatris and the police. Violent incidents were reported at several places. There seems to be a big conspiracy behind this,” said Khattar.
