Taking cognisance of the arrest of a police officer for allegedly raping a minor girl in Dausa, the chairman of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), Priyank Kanoongo said a notice was being issued to the Rajasthan government in the matter.
A copy of the notice, which is with ANI read, "The Commission has received a complaint in which it is mentioned that on November 9, some students of class 6 and 7 were publicly beaten and tortured during a program on the school premises for chanting Jai Shri Ram at Bharat Mata Convent School
The NCPCR has asked the Principal Secretary to appear in person before the Commission in relation to this matter on November 9 at 4 pm along with all the relevant documents and details.
The book Bahishti Zevar by Maulana Ali Thanvi, which contained objectionable, improper, and illegal content on children, was removed from the curriculum after the NCPCR wrote to the district administration of Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh to inquire into the matter earlier in July this year.
