The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) on Friday accused the ruling coalition of misusing the government machinery to remove legitimate voters from the voters' list for the Maharashtra Assembly elections 2024.
"There is a meeting at 1 pm today at the YB Chavan hall regarding this. The MVA will contest in unison will full power. Removing the BJP from power in Maharashtra is essential for the benefit of the state and we will do it."
Samajwadi Party Maharashtra Chief Abu Azmi on Wednesday posted on X and said that the MVA should not release the list of candidates without talking to them.
The Assembly elections for the 288 member assembly in Maharashtra would be held in a single phase on November 20 with counting of votes scheduled to be held on November 23.
After the announcement of the Maharashtra Assembly election dates, Bhartiya Janata party leader Shaina NC on Tuesday said that the ruling Mahayuti alliance will form the government in Maharashtra for the third time.

Citing smooth coordination among the alliance partners, former Maharashtra Home Minister and NCP-SP leader Anil Deshmukh said on Tuesday that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) will wil the Maharashtra Assembly polls and will form the government.

Maharashtra BJP President Chandrashekhar Bawankule announced that the BJP, Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena, and the NCP will work together for the upcoming elections.
"The Mahayuti indulged in corruption even while building the statue of our revered icon, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Let us banish these traitors who dishonoured the legacy of Phule, Shahu, and Ambedkar," the MVA's booklet read.
