The Bharatiya Janata party has announced that they will be fielding Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh as the party's mayoral candidate for the upcoming Municipal Corporation of Delhi's annual election.
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will hold elections for the post of Mayor and Deputy Mayor on April 25. The deadline for filing nominations is April 21
Haryana Minister Anil Vij on Wednesday said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won 25 seats out of 32 in the municipal elections. The ruling party also managed to win the mayoral post from Ambala, along with eight other places in the state.
Counting of votes for municipal elections is underway across multiple districts, including Gurugram, Sirsa, Jhajjar, and Karnal, after voting took place on March 2.
"The secretive camaraderie between Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party that was going on for some time in Delhi has become public in the Chandigarh Mayor elections. Everyone has come to know that both are the same and have joined hands due to the Delhi elections," Dhanda said.
