ongress leader Rahul Gandhi paid tribute to former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on Tuesday, saying that Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru is a thought of "freedom, progress, and justice."
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi paid floral tribute to former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on his birth anniversary at Shantivan in the national capital on Tuesday.
"The BJP will get a clear majority in Chhattisgarh. The people of Chhattisgarh have faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This will be reflected in this election as well," Pradhan said.
Kharge, while referring to a recent incident in poll-bound Telangana where a young woman climbed up an electricity pole while PM Modi was addressing a rally and was apparently trying to convey something to the PM, said, "Young India is fed up with Modi Government's rank betrayal."
"Best wishes to everyone on Diwali. Let the darkness of lies, injustice and hatred disappear, May our India be illuminated with truth, justice and love," Rahul Gandhi posted on X (Formerly Twitter).
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday extended warm greetings to the people on Diwali and expressed hope that this unique festival of lights brings happiness, peace, and prosperity in everyone's lives.
"I would like to assure you on behalf of Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy that whatever promises we have made we will deliver and Padmavathi Reddy (Congress candidate) will deliver the promise," Shivakumar said.
Launching an all-out attack on the Congress in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said the grand old party followed the "laapata (missing) model" when it ruled the state.
Leading the potshot at the central leadership, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge termed the demonetization drive the biggest assault on India's economy and livelihood.
Ramping up his electioneering for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi fired a sharp barb at the Congress, saying that the grand old party's president (Mallikarjun Kharge) is controlled by a remote.
"Lagao jitna zor tanashahi ke liye, hum bhi ladte rahenge apni begunahi ke liye (Use as much force as you want for dictatorship, We will also keep fighting for our innocence)," Kharge said while addressing a poll campaign in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior East constituency.
Kushwaha took the membership of the party in the presence of Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior district on Tuesday.
