As the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance is poised to retain the power in Maharashtra with record majority, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the "historic victory" in assembly elections is a win of development and good governance.
"I had said earlier that I am an 'Aadhunik Abhimanyu' and know how to break the 'Chakravyuh'... My contribution to this victory is small, it is the victory of our team," he told reporters.
Attributing the victory of the Mahayuti alliance to the development schemes, specifically the Ladki Bahin Yojana, and expressed confidence in the alliance increasing its victory margin and even winning more than 225 seats as the counting concludes.
"We need to learn from the results in Maharashtra and respect the verdict of the people. We need to with the party who wins and work for the development of the state," he told ANI.
