Taking cognizance of a developing low-pressure area in the southeast and east central Bay of Bengal, Indian Coast Guard (ICG) ships and aircraft have started advising fishermen operating off the Andhra and Tamil Nadu coast to return to harbour to ensure safety during adverse sea conditions.
Indian Coast Guard Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC), Mumbai, the Maritime search and rescue coordinator on the Indian Western Coast evacuated a Chinese crew on board a Panama-flagged vessel MT Hua Wei 8 on Saturday due to severe medical conditions.
Four people still remain missing and three were rescued after a fishing boat capsized nautical miles from Munambam on Thursday, an official statement said.
The boat was carrying seven fishermen and after the boat capsized three of the drowning fishermen were immediately saved by a Fishing Boat operating in the vicinity, however, four fishermen went missing, said officials.
