The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a wet weather warning for Maharashtra over the next few hours, saying that multiple cities and districts were likely to experience a thunderstorm accompanied by light rainfall.
"There will be isolated rainfall throughout India in the coming few days with a yellow alert for most states in the country," India Meteorological Department (IMD) scientist Soma Sen Roy told ANI on Saturday.
"Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning is likely to occur at one or two places over Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Erode, Salem, Coimbatore, Thiruppur, Theni, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Ramanathapuram, Tenkasi, Thoothukudi, Thirunelveli and Kanyakumari districts of Tamilnad
As per the weather forecast, there might be thunderstorms accompanied by lightning. Areas can experience light to moderate spells of rain with gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph.
