"In the state, an alert has been issued for hailstorms and thunderstorms with a speed of 70 km per hour and heavy snowfall in areas above 3500 meters," read the IMD release.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert in Shimla and some parts of Himachal Pradesh for increased rainfall activity after May 1 and 2.
According to IMD, thunderstorms with moderate intensity rain and gusty winds with speeds of 50-70 Kmph is expected in the region of North, North-West, South, South-west, Central, North-East and East of the country.
Uttarakhand Director General of Police Ashok Kumar told ANI, "As weather conditions have improved, pilgrims are allowed to visit the Kedarnath Dham", DGP Ashok Kumar said.
