Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Monday was accorded a warm welcome by the employees of Himachal Pradesh Secretariat in Shimla.
Himachal Pradesh Congress chief Pratibha Virbhadra Singh met Congress leader Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu as he took charge as the Chief Minister of the state on Monday.
"Today I am taking charge as the CM of the state. All MLAs, Deputy CM and senior members of the party will work for the welfare of the state," he said.
Not wasting any time after the BJP came out second-best in the closely fought Himachal Assembly polls, the party's Uttrakhand in-charge Dushyant Gautam has convened a meeting of all MPs of the state in the national capital, New Delhi, on Monday.
Newly sworn-in Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday received his mother on the occasion of an oath ceremony in Shimla and bowed down to touch her feet to seek her blessings.
"Why do you all take Rahul Gandhi seriously, all institutions are working well, if not how we (BJP) lost in Himachal Pradesh. Whenever they (Congress) is defeated they blame it on institutions (Election Commission)," said Union Minister Pralhad Joshi in Hubli.
Congress leader Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu who took oath as the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh on Sunday said that his government will implement OPS (Old Pension Scheme) in the first cabinet meeting.
Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri on Sunday said that with the win in assembly elections in the hill state, the Congres has stopped BJP's 'rath'.
