Amid the Diwali celebration in the national capital, Delhi fire services received a record 400 calls of fire incidents on Saturday, making it the highest number of calls received within 24 hours.
A fire broke out in a residential building in Raghubarpura on Friday evening. 12 fire tenders were sent to the spot, a Delhi Fire Service official said.
This Diwali, Delhi witnessed a record-breaking number of fire incidents, with the Delhi Fire Service receiving the highest number of calls since 2012. As of midnight on Diwali day, the service reported an unprecedented surge in fire incidents, marking a 12-year high.
The Hyderabad Fire Department on Thursday responded to sixteen fire-related calls, with notable incidents reported in Himayat Nagar and Secunderabad. No casualities were reported in the either incidents.
The Delhi Fire Service received over 300 calls of fire-related incidents on Diwali in which there were no life-threatening cases were reported, an official said on Friday.

A fire that broke out at a furniture shop in the Nabi Karim area of Delhi has been doused off; however, the cooling operation is still underway, said officials of Delhi Fire Service.
