New Delhi [India], November 1 (ANI): A fire broke out in a residential building in Raghubarpura on Friday evening, prompting the Delhi Fire Service to dispatch 12 fire tenders to the scene, according to an official statement.
ADO Yashwant Singh Meena from the Delhi Fire Service confirmed that the situation is now under control.

Earlier, Meena stated, "We received a fire call from Raghubarpura at 3:05 pm. Initially, three fire brigades were sent, followed by a total of 12 currently engaged on site. The fire erupted on the building's second and third floors, where storage in the godown is hindering firefighting efforts. The cause of the fire is still under investigation."
This Diwali, Delhi recorded an unprecedented surge in fire-related incidents, reaching the highest number of emergency calls received by the Delhi Fire Service since 2012. By midnight on Diwali day, the service had experienced a notable increase, hitting a 12-year peak.
In 2023, the Delhi Fire Service responded to 318 calls, compared to 208 in 2022, 201 in 2022, 152 in 2021, and 184 in 2012. On Diwali night, peak-hour calls in Delhi reached 310, a substantial rise from 195 last year.
Speaking to ANI, Fire Services Director Atul Garg noted, "While there weren't many major incidents yesterday, the volume of calls was significant. From 5 pm to 5 am, over 300 calls were recorded, with 192 calls between 5 pm and 12 am, and another 158 from midnight to 6 am." (ANI)
