According to Fire Department sources a fire call was received around 11.50 am from the Jaipur Golden Transport factory situated near Pul Bangash metro station here. A total of 18 fire tenders were rushed to the site to control the blaze.
The fire brigade did not respond to the calls made by the Mamlatdar office. The car was burnt before the fire brigade arrived at the scene, claimed sources.
On getting the information about the incident, around half a dozen fire brigades rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. No casualties were reported, however, goods of approximately Rs 40 lakh were burned in the incident.
Officials of the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) on Wednesday doused a level-one, an easily inflammable, fire, that broke out in a two-storeyed building, in Mumbai's Byculla area, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said.
Fire brigade's mock drill was conducted on Friday evening to check the operational preparedness for the upcoming Pravasi Bharatiya Divas on 8th, 9th and 10th January and Global Investors Summit on 11th and 12th January in Indore.
Four engines of the fire brigade were rushed to the spot after the company executives informed the police about the incident. Some civilians were shifted to a safe place.
