In a rescue operation on Saturday morning, a Pune fire brigade team along with a local animal NGO named Wild Animal and Snakes Protection Society sprang into action to save two dogs trapped inside a drum of asphalt (bitumen).
The rescue operation is scheduled to begin tomorrow morning at approximately 8:15 am, following the arrival of the diving team from Colaba, an official said.
A fire broke out at a college in Mumbai's Kandivali area on Wednesday morning said, Mumbai's Fire Brigade authorities. Three fire tenders are at the spot and there was no report of any causality yet, they added.
"It was not a fire incident but a regular maintenance drill where there was some smoke from their chimney and it seemed like a fire. We also moved our teams to the spot but nothing was there. We are still at the spot", said the official in Mumbai Fire Brigade.
On getting the information about the incident, the fire brigade team and the police reached the spot. With the efforts of four fire tenders, the fire was brought under control and no casualty was reported in the incident.
"Following all the rules to diffuse bombs, the CID bomb squad took the explosive to a vacant place, dug a hole in the ground, and exploded it in a controlled manner. The medical team and the fire brigade were also present at the scene," said SDPO Rahul Pandey.
