A 17-year-old boy is feared drowned in the Arabian Sea near suburban Mahim on Wednesday, officials of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said.
Jharkhand Police on Tuesday confirmed to have recovered 5 bodies of six children who died due to drowning after they bunked school and went to take a bath in Lotwa dam of Hazaribagh.
The police said that on Wednesday, the deceased's father was working in the park along with his co-worker and his son Divyansh was also playing there. After some time, he saw that his son was not there, and later he found him in the swimming pool.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the incident. "CM Yogi expressed grief over the death of children who drowned in the Ken River of the Banda district. He has directed officials to provide compensation to the kin of the deceased", an official statement said.
