The Chief Secretary of the Himachal Pradesh Government has ordered for legal action on the complaint against Director General of Police (DGP) Sanjay Kundu, by businessman Nishant Sharma.

A case under sections 469 (forgery for the purpose of harming reputation), 211 (false charge of offence made with intent to injure), 499 (defamation), 500 nad 505 of the IPC was registered against the businessman.
Mufti questioned the definition of collateral damage, particularly in light of recent targeted attacks in the region, including the Kokernag incident in September, where an Army colonel, a major, and a deputy superintendent of police were killed.
RR Swain took over as 17th Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. Swain took charge from former DGP Dilbag Singh, who superannuated on October 31.
"The DGP said that handlers from across the borders are not sending money here to build hospitals, roads and other things but to support terrorism and disturb peace here," the statement quoting DGP said.
Reacting to this, DGP Singh said, "I am confident that police will identify and nab those who are involved in yesterday's and today's attack. We will not spare those behind the attack. The neighbouring country doesn't like peace here in Jammu and Kashmir".
