The sacred protals of Badrinath Dham were reopened for devotees on Sunday morning after remaining closed for six months, marking a spiritual moment for pilgrims and Uttarakhand.
Devotees offered prayers and took a holy dip at the spiritual Har ki Pauri ghat in Uttarakhand's Haridwar on Sunday to mark the celebration of Baisakhi.
"I feel very blessed after offering prayers at the temple on the occasion of Ram Navami. We celebrate the festival of Ram Navami with joy and happiness," a devotee said.
Devotees also gathered in large numbers to take part in the Mangala aarti at the Ambaji temple in Banaskantha, Gujarat, on day one of Chaitra Navratri. As per tradition, Mata Shailputri is worshipped on the first day of Chaitra Navratri and marks the beginning of the Hindu New Year.
"Devotees flock to the temple according to occasions and accordingly there is also a bit of divinity in the rituals and worship performed to the lord. Today is Shani Amavasya, so thousands of people are visiting Lord Mahakal temple to seek blessings," priest of the temple Mahesh Sharma told
The temple opened its doors on November 15 to mark the start of the annual Mandala-Makaravilakku festival, marking the beginning of the annual pilgrimage season.
Thousands of devotees offered prayers at Indore's renowned Khajrana Ganesha Temple on the occasion of Diwali on Thursday. Devotees stood in long queues since morning to visit the temple.
Devotees offered prayers and participated in the early morning Aarti performed at Surat's Ambaji Temple on the eighth day of Shardiya Navratri on Thursday.
