Devotees offer prayers, take holy dips in rivers across country on Kartik Purnima

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued necessary instructions during a review meeting on Thursday of the Balrampur division. He stressed the importance of enhancing security, facilities, and cleanliness for devotees at the Devi Patan Shaktipeeth.

With the pious blessings of Shri Banke Bihari Ji, Suyogya Media Pvt. Ltd. has successfully taken the deity LIVE, marking the first time in the temple's history that devotees can experience darshan through a structured digital platform. This historic step, taken by the temple authorities and administration, thoughtfully adapts a long-standing tradition for the benefit of devotees who are unable to visit Vrindavan in person.

Shri Chandreshwar Mahadev Temple in Rishikesh celebrated the festival of colours, Holi, on wednesday. On the auspicious occasion of Holi, the Shivling at the temple was beautifully adorned with abeer, gulal, and flowers. During the morning aarti today, the devotees offered gulal to the Shivling and started the holi celebration.

As the grand celebrations of Attukal Pongala 2026 commenced, Thiruvananthapuram Mayor V V Rajesh on Tuesday assured that all necessary arrangements have been put in place for the smooth conduct of the festival, as lakhs of devotees thronged the city.

Hariom Vashishth from Rohtak said he had arrived a day earlier and completed the ritual bath before the eclipse began. He explained that a fast is observed during the sutak period, during which devotees refrain from drinking water, eating food, or performing any rituals. He added that the eclipse is scheduled from 3:20 pm to 6:47 pm, while the sutak period begins nine hours prior, leading to the closure of temple doors.
