According to DGCA, the London-bound Air India flight crashed in the Meghani Nagar area of Ahmedabad following the take off at 01:38 pm on Thursday.The Boeing aircraft was carrying 242 people including 12 crew members.
In a statement shared on X, the UK High Commission in India said, "We are aware that a flight from Ahmedabad to London has crashed near Ahmedabad airport. We are working with local authorities to urgently establish the facts and provide support. Our thoughts are with all those affected."<

All flight operations at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA) in Ahmedabad have been temporarily suspended following an Air India plane crash incident, according to an official statement released by the airport spokesperson on Thursday.

Chairman of Adani group, Gautam Adani, on Thursday expressed grief over the Air India Flight 171 crash incident, which happened near Ahmedabad airport and said that the group is working closely with authorities over the situation.
