After a petition was filed in the Supreme Court against Bihar's government's decision to conduct a caste survey, Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday said that it is not a 'caste census but a caste-based census'.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday agreed to give an urgent hearing to the petition challenging the Bihar government's notification for conducting the Caste Census in the state.
"We welcome the census. It would have been better if the Central government had conducted the caste-based census. Through the caste census, we will know the representation of different communities," Shivanand Tiwari said today while talking to ANI.
As the Nitish Kumar Government in Bihar will go for the first phase of the caste-based survey in the State from today, Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav said that the survey will give scientific data so that budget and social welfare schemes can be made accordingly.
