The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) continued search and rescue operations at the Raigad Irshalgad landslide-hit area on Saturday. So far, 22 dead bodies have been recovered from the site, according to officials.
A total of 21 bodies have been recovered so far after a major landslide hit Irshalwadi village in Khalapur tehsil in Maharashtra's Raigad district on July 19 following the torrential rains in the region, officials said on Friday.
"12 bodies have been retrieved from the debris in Irshalwadi, Raigad; also, one rescuer died of cardiac arrest. Total of 13 deaths till now," police said on Thursday.
Taking to Twitter, NCW said, "NCW strongly condemns the horrific incident in Rajasthan where 4 people, including a six-month-old, were burnt to death. Taking suo motu cognizance, NCW has contacted the DGP Rajasthan urging prompt action on this tragic matter".
