Scientists who treated HIV infected patient with special stem-cell transplant, suggest it as possible cure

Denver (Colorado) [US], February 20 (ANI): HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) a virus that attacks the body's immune system has been known to have no cure. However, a patient living with HIV who received a blood stem cell transplant for high-risk acute myeloid leukaemia has been free of the virus for 14 months after stopping HIV antiretroviral drug treatment, suggesting a cure, according to the Weill Cornell Medicine physician-scientists.
