New Delhi, Nov 19 (ANI): Uber will soon launch four new India-specific features including a website version of Uber- m.uber.com. The other features include: request to book rides for a guest, a call to ride feature and offline search option for those with limited connectivity. Vice President and Head of product at Uber, Daniel Graf said, “As a part of our efforts to enable global access to Uber, we’re focusing on two key areas for riders - building solutions for those who don’t have access to the Uber app and enabling our existing rider app to work better in emerging markets. Customer obsession is a key theme for us - we want to make sure we understand the rider, their needs, the barriers, and then build from there.” Website version- m.uber.com: To target riders, who do not have smartphones to run mobile apps due to limited storage issues, Uber has launched web-based version of Uber in India. Call to Ride Feature: The call to ride feature will allow users to book a ride through a nationwide phone number. They can enter a numeric code displayed on signage in a popular zone in the city. Users who make payments in cash can only use this feature. Offline Search: Uber is enabling an offline search for passengers with limited connectivity. The taxi service provider has added most popular points of interest in the city under this option so that riders can enter their destinations without any connection. This feature will be rolled out in the next few weeks and will work automatically if the app detects limited connectivity. Request for a guest: This feature enables users to book a ride for a friend or family member within the same city or across cities. The guest will be informed via text messages about the estimated time of arrival of the cab or the drivers' details.
