67% Indian mid-size businesses hit by ransomware, says survey

New Delhi, Mar 17 (ANI): Around 67 percent Indian businesses have been hit by ransomware software which is cryptovirology that threatens to publish the company's data or perpetually block access asking for ransom. The companies are spending nearly $1.17 million to combat the malware, according to a survey by endpoint security provider Sophos. The survey titled 'The State of Endpoint Security Today' shows that Indian businesses are at greater risk than ever with growing attacks by ransomware. In the survey, Sophos polled more than 2,700 IT decision makers across mid-sized businesses in 10 countries.
