Asian Games 2018: Rahi Sarnobat becomes first Indian woman shooter to bag gold

Jakarta (Indonesia), Aug 22 (ANI): Shooter Rahi Sarnobat became the first Indian woman to score gold in the history of Asian Games. Rahi Sarnobat won gold in women’s 25m pistol at the Asian Games 2018 on Wednesday. She shot a total of 34 in the finals against her Thai opponent Naphaswan Yangpaiboon. Yangpaiboon claimed silver and Korean shooter Kim Minjung bagged bronze medal in the event. Rahi had won her first gold medal at the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games held in Pune. Another Indian shooter Manu Bhaker finished at sixth position in the same event. Bhaker had won gold at Commonwealth Games 2018. India’s total medal tally is at 11 with 4 golds, 3 silvers and 4 bronze medals.
