8th state level sub-junior Hockey Championship underway in Manipur

Imphal (Manipur) Feb 22 (ANI): The 8th State Level Sub-Junior Men's & Women's Hockey Championship was kicked off at Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium on 21st February. Organised by Manipur Hockey, the championship was kicked off by CM Biren Singh’s wife Nongthombam Hiyainu Devi. This year, 11 men's teams and 8 women's teams grouped into two pools from 16 districts of Manipur will compete for the top honours of the tournament. In opening match in women's Pool-B, Ideal Club, Tera drubbed Bishnupur Hockey by 5-0 goals. The opening ceremony was attended by N. Hiyainu Devi, Basudev Singh, President, Manipur Hockey, L. Bembem, Social Worker, O. Bem, Social Worker, T. Bimola Devi, Adhyaksha, Imphal East, Ph. Nirmalata, Joint Secretary, Hockey India as the Chief Guest, President and Guests of Honour.
