Jakarta (Indonesia), August 30 (ANI): Indian athlete Jinson Johnson on Thursday clinched a gold medal in Men’s 1500m athletics event at the ongoing 18th edition of the Asian Games. The 27-year-old claimed the top position on the podium after finishing with a clock timing of 3:44.72 in the final of the event. Speaking after the event, Jinson said, “I am really happy that I brought a gold medal for the country. I was expecting it. This is my biggest achievement yet. We need more help from the government to perform better.” India’s total medal tally at the prestigious tournament now stands at 58- 13 gold, 20 silver and 25 bronze.
