Yamaha looking for possibilities to launch electric two-wheelers in India

New Delhi, Dec 17 (ANI): Japanese auto giant Yamaha is conducting a feasibility study to evaluate possibility of launching electric two-wheelers in India, a top company executive said. Yamaha offers a range of motorcycles, scooters in the country and through the study the company is trying to find whether EVs can replace models that run on internal combustion engines. According to Yamaha Motor Research and Development India MD Yasuo Ishihara, the company has an edge in this segment they already have electric two-wheelers in other countries. The company also plans to continue with the development of traditional internal combustion engines. At present, the nation is struggling with the menace of pollution and the government is pushing towards the need of electric vehicles.
