New Delhi, Apr 09 (ANI): It was an extremely challenging year due to COVID pandemic but the net direct tax collections for the financial year 2020-21 showed an upswing to Rs 9.45 lakh crore. Owing the credit of surplus to the taxpayers’ confidence, Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) Chairman PC Mody in an exclusive interview with ANI said that faceless assessment, faceless appeals and online facilities have provided confidence in tax payers discharging their tax liability is the main reason behind the direct tax collection which surpassed the revised budget estimate for 2020-21.
