Refund to Customers from Japan's Crypto Exchange After theft

New Delhi, Jan 28 (ANI): Japan-based virtual currency, assured refunding of about USD 400 million to customers after hackers stole hundreds of millions of dollars worth of digital assets. The company said it will use its own funds to reimburse about 46.3 billion Yen to all 2,60,000 customers who lost their holdings of NEM, the 10th biggest crypto currency by market capitalisation. After detecting an 'unauthorised access' of the exchange, the company suspended trading for all cryptocurrencies apart from bitcoin. Hackers stole several hundred million dollars worth of a lesser-known crypto currency from the company on Friday. Coincheck said that around 523 million of the exchange's NEM coins were sent to another account.
