Imphal (Manipur), Nov 21 (ANI): In an effort to highlight and explore the potential of North East India in further establishing itself as a land hub of India’s Act East Policy, a two day “North East Development Summit” kick started in Manipur’s Imphal on Tuesday. The key focus areas in the summit were trade and investment connectivity, infrastructure and tourism development, skill development, capacity building and entrepreneurship. North East is a natural partner in India’s ‘Act East Policy’, being a land bridge to Association for South East Asian Nations (ASEAN). The Act East Policy is meant to strengthen the stability, economy and prospects of our North Eastern region. It is believed to significantly end the geographical isolation of North Eastern region and transform it into a bridgehead for India to the booming ASEAN markets and its extended neighbourhood.
