New Delhi, Jan 02 (ANI): The world's largest legal market for recreational weed opened its doors on Monday. Dozens of newly licensed stores in California are open for business. The most populous state in the U.S. now permits the sale of cannabis products to customers 21 and older. It's the sixth U.S. state to legalize the drug for non-medical use. Customers are able to buy up to an ounce, or 28 grams, of raw cannabis or its equivalent at a time. Experts value California's marijuana market at several billion dollars a year. With its nearly 40-million residents, more than one in five Americans now live in a state where recreational marijuana is legal for purchase. The move toward legalization is part of trend reversing tough U.S. drug laws enacted since the 1970s.
