New Delhi, Nov 19 (ANI): Software vendor Infosys will configure the editing facility in the GST Network by November 20 to enable traders to file their three-page summary return. The GST Network is the backbone of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) on which the new indirect tax regime is operated in real-time, as all its functions are automated. The city-based IT bagged Rs 1,300-crore contract in 2015 to design, develop, maintain and operate the GSTN for three years across the country. The GST Network is also hiring people to analyse the data of the states. Infosys has also hired 100 more engineers in the last one month, taking the total number of its employees working for the GSTN to 621. Over 2 lakh tax payers were unable to file their summary returns in August and September due to the non-provision of the editing facility in the GST Network. By November 20, the editing facility will be operationalised by the GST Network.
