Indian Railways to offer discounts if trains are not fully booked

New Delhi, Dec 17 (ANI): The Indian Railways is likely to offer discounts on tickets if trains are not fully booked, Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said on Saturday. It will be a complete revamp of the flexi-fare scheme. According to Goyal, the discounts would be similar to airlines and hotels. Goyal’s remarks came days after the Railway Board formed a six-member committee to review the flexi-fare scheme. The committee consists of railway board officials, along with Niti Ayog advisor Ravinder Goyal, Professor of Transport Economics, S Sriram, and Iti Mani, Le Meridien Director (Revenue), Delhi.
